Every other day would be better. Your not allowing your natural oils to protect the hair. Ask your stylist what you should do.

They say you should not wash your hair every day, because it strips the natural oil out of it. Depends on who you talk to about how often. I've watched "What not to Wear" on TV and the hairdresser has said you should only wash once a week (Yikes!!!). I have short hair and can get away with washing every two to three days, if necessary. But like you I can't stand dirty hair. I think it makes a difference on what kind of product you use on your hair also on how long you can go between washings. If you use a lot of gels or hairspray it just gets dirty quicker. Didn't really answer your question here, but told you what I know.

I know some people that wash their hair every other day, but shower daily..of course. But sometimes you can't do that depending on what you did that day. I have also heard if you do "conditioner only" every other day, it will keep your hair from looking dry. But this doesn't always work for everyone either because sometimes it makes their hair too oily and heavy.
I'd say try it out. I know the reasoning for not washing your hair everyday is for the natural oils in your hair. I do the wash every other day and conditioner only every other day.

It's important NOT to wash your hair every day, but if you have oily hair, what's a woman to do? Don't wash. Instead, try dry shampoo on your hair. Since washing hair too much strips hair of oils & even color if you've had a dye job, you're better off washing every other day & sprinkling a bit of dry shampoo at the roots & hairline. For blondes, save your money & use baby powder.

I usually wash my hair every other day. It's easier to style with a little product build-up. What I've heard is washing your hair everyday strips all of the oils that keep your hair and scalp healthy away and can dry out hair and scalp...which can lead to dandruff or other problems. I've read about some people who wash their hair every 2 WEEKS!!! I couldn't do that, but to each his own!

It's better not to wash hair every day, 'cause hair does not get 'dirty' in 24 h's, the scalp may get oily if you have oily skin. But by shampooing everyday, you are actually encouraging the scalp to produce more oil as well as over-stripping the hair of its natural oils. So, shampoo every other day and use baby powder or some dry shampoo in between if your scalp gets really oily.

It is. Because our hair have natural oils and by washing everyday means you wash out the natural oils. Washing everyday doesn't give it enough time to build up causing your hair to slowly dry out. U should wash it every 2 days.

yeah its bad for and does damage in the long run. Also your hair will start falling out. do you want to go bald? wash it like every 3 days minimum. i hate have dirty hair too but i wash it every 5 days ish. i let it dry naturally and then straighten it with irons which is bad for hair, do u do it too? that would mean u do it everyday? it also depends on your hair type, oily haired people need to wash more often. i have normal-dry hair so i don't need to wash it as often. your natural oils shouldnt be removed too often, but washing them they get washed away too.

No, I wash my hair everyday, I make sure I use conditioner. I too
like too keep my hair clean. Also my hair is the type that needs to be wet before I can do anything with it. After I wash and condition
it, I use BB's Hair Lotion to keep it moisten and not looking all dried up.

It's not bad but you don't need to.
Well, it depends on you. Like if you just have naturally oily hair, then yeah wash it everyday. But if you have dry/frizzy hair like mine then, you shouldn't. If you like the way your hair looks, then that shouldn't be a problem.
But some times for me.. the look of my hair the day after I wash it looks better.. it just all depends on you and your hair.
