They always praise Him as good, just, loving, etc. But to say these things about God (or anyone) is to pass a judgement on their character - granted, the judgement is POSITIVE, but it's STILL judging!!! What they REALLY mean is, don't pass a NEGATIVE judgement on Him! If it is really forbidden to judge God, then we ought to say nothing either negative OR positive about Him - but of course, this would be unacceptable to the believers...

The do not judge clause applies to other people. I have never know it to apply to God. We are to leave the judging of people/their souls to God.
I am a devout Christian and I know for a fact that God is big and strong enough to take negative critism. In fact I believe God want to be part of our lives and expects that part of that is being yelled at and called out sometimes. I get T-ed off at God regularly.
Now then, as a Christian it is my responsibility to spread the Gospel (AKA Good News). In doing so it means I speak of the positives or when I speak of the negatives it is in recognition of my limited understanding and seeking God answer.

Excellent point. To say anything other than "God just is" passes a judgement on him.

Because of what i believe I think it would be fair to judge God, the Old Teastament bible God is a hateful tyrant not worthy of worship. according to the OT, Jehovah advocated rape slavery and war all because he wanted to stroke his giant Ego. I doesnt seem right to me to worship Jehovahs son either, because it is advocating what Jehovah did as a God to be right.

You can say what you want about God. None of us can stop you. Nothing we say or do surprises God. But He is the final judge.

Among the Bible of Christians and Jews, there are several words in the original languages that are translated "judge".
Some of them mean "condemn"...... others simply mean "to discern". We discern God's goodness but we don't condemn Him.

i'm a muslim. in the Quran it says Allah is merciful, Allah is loving, Allah is beneficient.
i do not pass judgement on what i think Allah is like. I believe in the Quran. it is impossible to understand Allah our minds are incapable of doing that.
these are only my believes--i'm just trying to answer the question. and just for mentioning Allah, Quran, and islam, i will probably get thumbs down but it doesn't change anything

The Bible tells us that God is good, just, loving, all-mighty etc. Therefore we are going off of what He told us about Himself, and are not judging Him.

but...but....
they all believe whatever their clergy tells them they can believe, and this doesn't include any room for questions, such as "why was the god of the old testament such a sex-obsessed tyrant?", or even "how is the god of the new testament any different?"

I agree with you to an extent --- but like they say ... if you don't have something nice to say --- don't say it at all.
saying something negative about GOD is very hurtful to people. I'm sure you wouldn't want someone to say something negative about something you firmly believe in ... RIGHT?
