The book of Revelations is very confusing to most Christians, at least at first, and even to Bible scholars it is subject to interpretation. Of course, one thing IS clear; Christ will return and destroy Satan and his followers, and he will destroy this sinful world and make a new Heaven and a new Earth. In between now and then there will be a period of disasters, and Satan will possess a human and come to power as a world dictator of sorts. The order of events and EXACTLY how everything happens is not certain, but isn't that just like God to tell us only the minimum of what we need to know and leave the rest up to us trusting in him? Try watching the Left Behind series; I think they did a pretty good job with the information given.

I will be brief and explain what I do know. Revolation talks about when Jesus comes back. It also goes into the seals being broken an that is when the madness starts. Keep in mind that if you have accepted Jesus as your savior and those that are not enough to know better will be saved from this mess. If you cannot understand Revolations read Matthew. Always pray before reading. The Holly Spirit will guide you and help you understand. Keep in mind that The Lord will reveal to you what he know you are ready for and not before. If you keep on asking will soon see things differently and all of a sudden you will find yourself understanding more and more.

this thrilling book of the Bible brings the divine record to a happy climax. at the outset Revelation assures us: “Happy is he who reads . . . the words of this prophecy.” In its final chapter we are told: “Happy is anyone observing the words of the prophecy of this scroll.”—1 Timothy 1:11; Revelation 1:3; 22:7.
How do we find happiness through the book of Revelation? We do so by searching out the meaning of its vivid signs, or symbols, and acting in harmony therewith. Mankind’s turbulent history will soon reach a catastrophic climax, as God and Jesus Christ execute judgment on today’s wicked system, replacing it with “a new heaven and a new earth,” where even “death will be no more.” (Revelation 21:1, 4)

It is the Book of Revelation, not plural. It reveals what is going to happen in the furture to all the people on this planet.
Chapters 1-4 talks about the good in the different churchs and the bad. We all are guilty of something that displeases the Lord and need to wake up before it is too late.
Chapters 5 on talks about after Jesus takes the Christians to heaven, all hell will break out.

There is no "short version" of Revelation, but you can buy a book called "Revelation for Dummies" (no offense, that has some clear answers. The book is written so that it cannot be 100% clearly defined. That's where the faith comes in!

Megathemes of Revelation
1. God is sovereign. He is grater than any power in the universe. God is not to be compared with any leader, government, or religion. He controls history for the purpose of uniting true believers in loving fellowship with him.
2. Christ came to earth as a "lamb," the symbol of his perfect sacrifice for our sin. He will return as the triumphant "Lion," the rightful ruler and conqueror. He will defeat Satan, settle accounts with all those who reject him and bring his faithful people into eternity.
3. John wrote to encourage the church to resist the demands to worship the Roman emperor. He warns all God's faithful people to be devoted only to Christ. Revelation identifies who the faithful people are and what they should be doing until Christ returns.
4. One day God's anger toward sin will be fully and compleely unleashed. Satan will be defeated with all of his agents. False religion will be destroyed. God will reward the faithful with eternal life, but all who refuse to believe in him will face eternal punishment.
5. One day God will create a new heaven and a new earth. All believers will live with him forever in perfect peace and security. Those who have already died will be raised to life. These promises for the future bring us hope.

Revelation is the most complicated book in the Bible. Good luck finding spark notes to it. I'd say your best bet it to find a study book (John MacArthur is good) and try to go through it that way. I haven't tackled that one yet.

Revelations is merely the drug induced dream of someone who lived a few thousand years ago. Don't worry about it.
