No. I believe they have a 10 year life span. Once it goes, it's gone.

If you run it all day long like at an electronic store, probably yes. If you use it like a normal person, then you will get your money's worth. It may not last as long as a tube TV, but long enough until the next best thing comes out on the market.
Most plasmas have a half-life of 60,000 hours. At 8 hours per a day, that is around 9 years. Half life is the time it takes to reach 50% brightness. A standard tube TV reaches 30% brightness at 20,000 hours.

It depends on how much you use it. You have to talk about how long you leave your TV on for, not how many years you have it. Plasma TVs have a half-life because there are gasses in the TV screen that are affected by how long they are used for. Two or Three years seems a little low in any case. I'd say you could look for at least 8 years.
If this is a real concern of yours, look for LCD TVs. They are still really thin and don't have as many problems of this nature as plasma TVs do.

As long as it is not being used for static images, it should last about 30,000 hours - and if you get more advanced plasma screen technology (such as rotating pixels), then it could be an upward of 50,000 hours (a year is less than 10,000 hours).
