Has anyone heard of an old cold remedy called "cat food tea?" If you have,please tell me what is in this.

Do you mean "Cat Nip Tea"??

I suspect you mean "cat nip tea". Made by infusing leaves of a catnip plant in hot water for about five minutes and then drinking the infusion.
