Many reasons in fact:

- A Bet with another God.
- Show off to his girl friend. (Does it a lot on Family Guy!)
- God just likes the number 8.
- God making an exciting TV Show (Humanity-sized Truman Show).
- You sneezed by mistake and caused all this flood... "Opps!"
- "Holy"-Selection of species that you like most.
- Mistaken Earth for a Card Deck,.. you leave 8 cards for that game.
- God was playing Sims...changed his mind.. there was no reverse.
- Holy boat riding/swimming competition... you beat that!

Given that a proportionate number were babies and therefore not capable of sin, and that, even if every single adult sinned, it is unlikely every single one committed a sin worthy of death, such an act could only be perpetrated by an entity of the vilest and evilest sort. In answer to your question, If this is the god christians are worshipping today, they should seriously consider the possibility they are worshipping satan passing himself off as god.

Entertainment for gods is not something that we mortals can hope to understand. Zeus used to spend all of spare time empregnating young women while dressed up as a swan. Entertaining for him, not so much for the poor girls.

So, if the christian god feels like killing everyone then that's his business. He gets a laugh out of it, that should be good enough for us.

Um excuse me, but, look around at the world we live in. I could list an endless number of atrocities that go pretty much unchallenged in our world, so yes, I think there was plenty of reason then, and there is plenty of reason now. Of course, the fact that you and I woke up this morning is a testament to Gods mercy and grace.

The bible says that people were constantly evil...no good at all... I cannot imagine a life in which nothing was good any longer can you?

So...you think child sacrifice, molestations, murders, drunken brawls, constant abuse, torture and on and on...you do not think those things are horrible?

its like playing sim city. after you get to a point, u get bored and start sending disasters, so it gives you something to do. *shrug*

i guess if god got bored enough and wanted to start a new "sim earth" that might be how he'd do it.
