Question: Why do we say GOD BLESS YOU, when somone sneezes?
---------
Of course, several people came on to answer that, to give THE REASON why that happens. And, predictably, everyone gave a different story. Each one was (in their mind) the right one. But, all these different answers to explain something that simple.

And you wonder why so many of the stories in the bible, many handed down for decades before ever written down, are flawed and wrong? Do you REALLY have to wonder why? Isn't it obvious?

The four gospels give different accounts of jesus, the alleged virgin birth, the alleged resurrection, etc. Is it any wonder they're all different and flawed?

Is it any wonder that from one book, you get hundreds of different denominations -- who all worship differently and believe differently because they can't agree?

No, what I find astonishing is how many people are in denial that the flaws exist.

La la la la...I can't hear you. La la la la...I can't see you. La la la la...you're not there. Turn the page. See? No contradictions on this page. Contradicts with that other page? Oh no, that was a completely different page. Every page is separate and perfect. You're taking it out of context.

If you mean to imply some sort of parallel between the explanations given for why people say “bless you” when others sneeze and the accounts found in the Bible, you are overlooking a key factor: there are several reasons people say bless you – not one reason, several reasons. There is nothing inherently wrong with that. There may be several reasons why a man loves his wife, or why the couple have children. There is no one single reason. So your contention that the “stories” in the Bible are flawed because they are different is itself flawed. And your allegation that because the four gospels differ, this affords proof that they are inherently flawed and therefore wrong is an unproved allegation – at best. The four gospels give different accounts. Discrepancies? Possibly. Discrepancies however do not automatically translate to contradictions. Even so, if the gospel accounts were exactly the same, you would charge collusion.

You do not get hundreds of different denominations from one book. You get hundreds of different denominations from people who refuse to allow that book to be the touchstone of what is true and instead make up doctrines that make them feel good and that tickle their ears – simultaneously being laced with Greek mythology and philosophy which makes them sound really educated.

You are right - they cannot agree. It is because they are not letting God's word speak to them – it is because they are trying to speak for God.

You call the virgin birth alleged. Why? You call the resurrections alleged. Why? Because you cannot conceive of such things happening? Or is it because they are miracles? Isn't that like saying miracles are impossible because they are miraculous? How unreasonable!

The Bible is not flawed, people are flawed. First, the Bible is not written about good upstanding citizens of the world, some are murder, thieves, and scoundrels, Just like people today. Secondly, the Bible is not clearly understood by people, including Christians. It needs to to read with understanding from the Holy Spirit. Christians have no problem with different denominations, we all believe the same basic truths about Christ.

Most of the things in the bible are supposed to be stories with a moral at the end, but some people decide its fact

Any information filtered through the fallibility of man will be flawed and inaccurate. So no, it's no surprise to me. People would be a lot better off if they followed what they feel inside rather than just what they are told by others.

Maybe you should actually READ the BIBLE. You might actually understand it (highly doubtful that YOU could READ it). The accounts do not differ they are taken from different people who saw things from a different perspective. NONE of them differ in their TRUTH or ACCURACY. You are quite a strange person that has some serious shortcomings but I hope you are eventually able to understand that GOD is THE ONLY TRUTH that we need. Have a great week. I hope you get out of wherever you are soon so that you can see the REAL WORLD that OUR FATHER has made. It is good.

Your flaw is that you are supposing the Bible to be a man made book. But it is God inspired. Supernaturally written through the authors by God.

The Bible is accurate and you're not going to convince the people who believe it is that it's not. Better luck next time!

B/c it's nonsense; you could make any number of claims using the bible, and then use it to refute those same claims.
