Make an appointment with your doctor or go to an urgent care/minute clinic. It sounds to me like you are suffering from a bad sinus infection. Yes, a sinus infection will cause irritation in the throat. Your ears, nose and throat are all connected. The nasal drainage is what is causing the throat irritation. Your ears are probably slightly "clogged" or "plugged" up... and you might not even realize it.

A course of antibiotics will clear it up for you. Amoxicillian, Penicillan, Zythromax (Z-pak), and Levaquin are the most prescribed medications. Zythromax and Levaquin are 5 day prescriptions, most others are 10 days.

Personally, I prefer to take 5 days of antibiotics and get the treatment over with asap.
