I have the ones that are fat all the way down to skinny ones. I'm guessing that the big ones go on the bottom layers but i'm not sure. I've never rolled my hair before so any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You didn't tell us if you have long or short hair so you will have to decide what size curlers to use. Smaller curlers will give you tight curls and the larger curlers will give you body and fullness. Start with clean and damp hair. Apply a styling lotion or mousse evenly throughout the whole head of hair. I prefer the plastic curlers that have snap on covers. They are easy to use and the curlers stay put until you are ready to take them out.

If possible get one of those three section mirrors - both sides swing toward the middle so that you can see the back of your head. When you can see what you are doing back there it makes things a whole lot easier. It will take some practice to become good at it.

Someone else made the suggestion of a mohawk run from the front to the bottom of the back. Good suggestion. You should likely roll the first three curlers forward and then the rest towards the back. Over time you can experiment and find what works best for you.

If you roll the hair from the mohawk towards your shoulders you may end up with "roller tracks" - curls that have spaces between each other where the curlers were located. Brush your hair to hide the tracks. Later on you may want to roll the curlers towards the front or back on the sides. Experiment and have fun. It is a lot of work but the finished product is well worth it. And don't worry about the folk who wonder why you would want to curl your hair. If you want to look good you will need to work at it.

The fatter ones should actually go on top, or where your hair is longest. The smaller curlers will give you tighter curls. If you just want fullness, use only the fat ones. If you want a curly look, use as many of the skinny ones as you can. Section your hair evenly with a comb, and don't roll too much onto any one curler.

It depends on what style your trying to acheive. The large rollers will acheive bigger or loose curls, the small one will create smaller, tighter curls. I usually use the small rollers on the shorter part of my hair and the larger ones on the longest part of my hair. Start at the top. This is the guide for the rest of your rollers. Always section off your hair and start rolling up your hair at the top down the middle to the back, then do the sides.

Do the first row straight back in the middle of your head (like a mohawk haircut.) Unless you want a lot of curl, use the big rollers all over.

When you have that mohawk roller design done, start rows going down (toward your shoulders) on each side of the mohawk. You will probably have 2 rows going downward.

You do that mohawk-down-the-middle row so when you take the rollers out and part your hair, you won't have any "roller bumps" showing.

small curlers for short hair long ones for long hair ,curl it in the direction you are going to style it,small curlers rolled tight will make tight curls .just experiment with different styles till you find one you like, the way you roll it is the way it will curl ,up for up curls; down for under curls, and sideways for back curl .good luck with your curls.
