Burn the audio file to a re-recordable cd as not to waste the disk then rip off again with media player, the use a the Jodix Free WMA to MP3 Converter to convert files.

You usually have to buy a program on the net. Some say they are free, but have catches and spy ware, then try yo hit you up for money.

Personally I hate the M4P format i-tunes uses as it is the hardest to convert and the worst to use on anything but "their" equipment. You buy one of their songs and it is difficult to get it to any other format even though you bought it!

Protected files you almost always need a program you can get on the web. As it is illigal to copy protected files, you can only get programs that are willing to do that, including DVD copying!

Burn to cd as an audio disc. Then rip it as mp3. Once in mp3 format, you can play in itunes.

Re-record? Play it and some software (e.g. SnagIt video record studio) can catch the audio via sound card and save it. Still illegal, I guess :-)
