Many files avilable on LimeWire can be viruses and spyware in disguise. It is important to have an up to date antivirus program and all the latest security updates for your operating system (Windows XP, OS X, etc) before using a file sharing program like LimeWire.

You can find pretty much whole discographys of bands if thats all you want limewire for, every time ive used limewire/kazaa, or any p2p program, ive gotten a virus...Go with the torrents, they are ALOT safer, ive used em for about a year now and only had one virus come from a game a downloaded..with limewire i wouldnt even have a computer anymore

Don't ever download an application or anything else other then music. Unless you are 100% sure it's the real thing. I'm telling you this from experince. I lost a laptop from trying to download an application and it was a gateway for over hundreds of spyware, viruses, and trojans. It's good for getting music, but your risking your computer getting anything else.

LimeWire is good for music, but that's about it. I highly suggest NOT using it to download anything else because there are viruses and spyware everywhere else. I use eMule Plus, you still have to be very careful what you download (as with any peer-2-peer file transfer network), but it works very well...even for music :-)

Completely depends on what your idea of 'safe' is.....you have to be careful of spy ware and such...just run good anti virus and anti spy, have your way with Limewire and then run a scan on your system to ensure that you have not caught any viruses or malicious threats.

limewire is ok for music and porn but i would scan everything if u download. If your looking to download movies, game and shows. i would use bitcomet. You can download it from www.bitcomet.com
