I'm a nurse. The doctor would be best in deciding that. It's hard for me to say without seeing it. I would say that you should go to the doctor. You might need medication to fight infection. Please take my advice, a simple cut can turn serious if left untreated.

If you have a clean cut (part of the tissue was not actually torn away and the edges of the cut match up if you pull them together), are able to clean the wound with soap and water, and the bleeding stops within minutes with a bandage, you don't need stitches. Otherwise you should have the injury looked at. Keep an eye out for signs of infection - redness, swelling, fever, increasing pain and oozing, and contact your doctor if necessary.

Only a doctor or trained medical person can tell you for sure, but in my opinion, if the wound is larger than a small bandaid, I'd head for the emergency room. You might need a tetanus booster as well, so best to be safe rather then sorry.

you get told by the doctor who sees your wound. If you have a wound and do not see a doctor, better have your head examined.
