I already have my tongue pierced but I want it done again.. But new years is coming and i want to get my drink on.. :) Would I be able to drink with no problems. People are telling me my tongue will turn yellow and puff up is that true??

stick to higher percentage of alcohol and you'll be ok. i heard that too when i got my tounge pierced, but i just steered away from beer because of the yeast (a natural bacteria). i had no problems with cocktail drinks, oh and if your a little worried just bring listerine, it works like a charm to prevent infection. just rise after a few drinks, half water and half mouth wash solution.

There seems to be some consensus about not drinking beer afterwards, but so far the literature has not supported the claim. Keep in mind that alcohol is a blood thinner and can cause you to bleed easier. You can expect swelling afterwards, so if you plan on alot of talking that night, it will irritate the tongue more.
Listerene is a little harsh on a fresh piercing, so a non-alchohol based product is a little gentler. (Biotene is one product)
Just remember to rinse with fresh water after eating, drinking and smoking.
Rest assured, you should not have a yellow tongue, but it will probably swell. Just check with your piercer on any details we missed.

I was told when I got my tongue pierced to make sure you stay away from anything with yeast.. like beer but go ahead and drink stuff like Tequilla. Like alcohol people would use to clean wounds or whatever? I dont' know.. but that was within 24 hours. The lady that pierced mine said after 24 hours that you get it pierced, you should be fine.

your tongue can get really infected if you dont clean it after what ever you eat or drink. I think as long as you go straight home and wash it out with mouth wash, you should be okay.

new years is on sunday....get "your drink on" and pierce it the following sunday...or later in the week, I'm sure you could wait a couple days. drinking alcohol with a fresh piercing isn't reccomended at all

i've heard that drinking clear alcohol is okay. but don't drink beer or anything with color...
