how are razor layered cuts different then the regualr ones?

should i get razor layers or regular? i have straight, thin, hair that is 2 in below my shoulders.

From what I've heard, razor layers actually ruin your hair. Particularly, it causes split ends quicker because it's cutting the hair down its length. My hair stylist told me this when I asked for razor layers. (I have semi-thick hair.).

regular...a razor layer cut thins out the hair and if your hair is already thin then you really wouldn't need that, it's more for thick hair
