I am a nurse so my first instinct is to tell you to suck it up. Injections are to help you and to prevent ailments. The ailments that you get from not being immunized are almost always more painful and life threatening at times. So think of the consequences.

Some injections hurt more than others, if you are really scared most doctors prefer you to bring someone along to help with moral support. Some doctors will even prescribe a mild sedative depending on the type of injection.

If they are immunizations remember to ask that the intramuscular injections be given in the glute if possible. This is your butt muscle and it has more cushion than getting injections in the arm, which of course lessons the pain. You can also ask for a smaller gauge needle. The pain is not caused by how long the needle is, but by the width of the needle.

Always remember not to look, this increases anxiety. It is all about the anticipation. you see a needle and the first thought is "this is going to hurt." Try to focus on something else. Before you know it you will be done. It only takes a few seconds.

Don't worry I have a complete fear of needles myself, the nurses just hate it when I come in (hopefully not so much anymore) because I always needs to go the "special" room for people who can't handle the needles.

If you're getting two shots (not IVs) you'll be fine. Although needles are horrifying to look at they only hurt for a minute. As soon as the needles comes out, pain is gone. And if there is any soreness, it's nothing Tylenol can't take care of. If you're getting an IV they usually give you a little shot to numb the area.

The pain and fear is mostly in your head. So when they go to stick yah, just look away - don't close your eyes or you'll focus on the pain - but if you can bring someone in to hold their hand, go for it. My boyfriend usually walks away with some nice fingernail marks and me saying "well, that wasn't so bad".

Good luck!!

Yes, needles stick hurt, but not that bad. More like a stick or like a quick splinter in your finger that doesn't last long or that intense. You can bring anyone you wish for moral support. Tell them upfront how you feel and ask them to let you know what they are doing before they do it so you are prepared. You can talk to them while they are doing it as it helps. I hated needles too as I was in the hospital as a little kid. When I grew up and went to school as a medical assistant, I had to practice on people. I let people practice on me because I didn't want to hurt others. I grew out of it even though I still don't like them. I donate blood now because I know it helps others.

When they do it, don't tense up. Try some deep breathing and relax as to the best that you can. You will be fine. It is just a stick and the pain isn't long. You will be fine.

ok wen u get the needle thing it doesn't really hurt just at the end and later u have to wait a long time before ur mouth isn't asleep anymore and its hard to drink and eat . U have to wait like 4 hours to get the pinsandneedles. If u really get paniced then just look away and maybe squeeze someones hand and u also can think of a happy place

You are being your own worst enemy. Syringe needles now are made so sharp that they slide easily into the skin and frankly hurt less than stubbing your toe in the dark. If having someone with you will help you to relax, by all means take someone with you...it is important to relax the muscles used for the injection, or you increase the likelihood that it will hurt more than it needs to. You might have your friend pinch the web between your thumb and forefinger, that will distract you from the injection and you probably won't even feel it.

The best thing to do is not look at the needle when being injected and yes you can bring someone with you

I had a shot when I was like 5 years old, then last year I got another one for the first time in like 10 years and I was a little bit freaked out. The needle was tiny, it didn't hurt at all. She pulled it out and I didn't even know she did anything really. Don't worry about it... unless it is going in your foot!

What kind of injection? Collagen? Flu shot? Well, it might hurt a little bit but don't look and don't let him tell you when it's gonna happen and just close your eyes and think of your crush or something (lol!) and maybe you can bring a friend. I've always found it helps to squeeze someone's hand. Good Luck!

It all depends on what kind of injections you are talking about and yes they are going to pinch a little but it wont last long at all. Take your skin underneath your arm close to your shoulder and pinch for about 5 seconds and that is what the injections will feel like.
