I HAVE WORKED WITH THIS PARTICULAR COLLECTION AGENCY, BUT THEY REFUSED A 400$ PAYMENT AND A 700$ PAYMENT. NOW I'M BEING GARNISHED FOR 50% OF MY WAGES.

The one and only thing that will stop a wage garnishment weather they have started taking money from your pay check or not is a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. Sorry :(

Wage garnishment is the LAST thing creditors do to collect their money. Once they start the wage garnishment proceedings they usually won't accept your money another way. Too little too late. Shoulda paid on the bill before it went to collections.

Okay, first you MUST make a trip down to the IRS. There going to take ALL the money you owe and then some. Which of course you may NOT be able to change. Anyhow, go to IRS, they'll give you a form. (PLease make sure to have YOUR Companies Payroll Dept's fax & phone number). They will take back the form you've filled out, and fax it to your payroll. Then the Lien should be lifted about 1 week later. If they have taken to much money, they'll send you out a check maybe a month later. But you'll get it! It sucks I know!!!

It stops once it is paid the creditor will notify payroll once it is paid.
