Also it wont accept the remote control. Cant find original one so got new one but wont work. Its a Samsung portable 14""

I've never seen a tv with a button to lock the buttons . . . . . . .
As for the remote, a universal remote should have a list of brand names and codes for those names. Some brands may have a dozen different codes that may work. You have to go thru them all.

Try unplugging the TV for a short time 30/40 minutes, maybe it will go back to the default mode, as for the remote, remove the batteries and put new ones in then set it up for your model of TV again,Good Luck.

Try unplugging your TV for a few minutes.....sometimes it will reset itself.
