That is the smart thing to do, you always have to keep a close eye on your enemy, because as long as you know where he is and what he is up to, you never have to worry about not knowing his next move, and you can prevent his unscrupulous actions if at all possible, and perhaps prevent him from any more of his plotting. It allows you to help keep others safe from him also.

I definitly disagree only by experience. Keeping your enemies is a way to control a situation because you are afraid of losing something. Your friends should be closer than your enemies however I think what the phrase Keep your enemies close actually means.......Respect all people even those who tresspass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil! Get it?

Not necessarily, Know all you can regarding your enemies since you might need all weapons at the ready when warfare begins. Knowledge is power, but negative people should be kept as far away from you as possible, why do you need to hang out with haters?

I disagree. I prefer to keep my enemies close and my friends closer since its the friends that could really **** you over.
