The 18 - 38 year old "Americans" are not picking fruit, cleaning peoples homes, cleaning public restrooms, working for janitorial services, cooking in lower-end restaurants, bussing tables or doing gardening. They ARE working retail at Abercrombie, the cell phone kiosks, as checkers at the Grocery etc. There is manual labor - and then there is RETAIL. Retail requires you to have a good command of the language - and therefor pays more. If you can't speak English - you can still clean or garden or cook.

Your question should be to all of the employers who HIRE the immigrants who are willing to work for low wages. Why do they do it - and why don't they up their wages and hire college drop outs and high school grads? These employers are the people most responsible for what you call "immigrant mass infussion"

Let's see, the national unemployment rate is about 4.5% -- since about 40% of the 300-million Americans are considered "work force," that means there are 120 million "workforce" americans, about 5 million of which don't currently have jobs. Throw out the disabled, the drug addicts, and others unfit for work, and that leaves, oh, around 4 million potential workers *nationwide.* How many of those do you think will work for $5 an hour picking tomatos and oranges, when they can get $400 a week on unemployment checks (equivalent of $10 an hour)? NONE!

No, I'm not worried about "immigrant mass infusion." It's been immigrant mass infusions over the centuries (Irish, Germans, Dutch, English, Chinese, etc.) that have made this country great. There are jobs for them, and mostly they're jobs native Americans won't do -- so what's the problem? Is it because so many of them have brown skin?

Watch Fight Club. The men in the United States have been pussified. They would rather work as waitresses than construction or in Swift. They don't feel threatened by immigrants because they no longer compete for the same jobs. No, American men just became too sexy. American men feel more threatened by women, since it is they that have been taking their jobs. Just look at these forums, it is the women making all the fuss.

Let us not kid ourselves and say that immigrants take Americans jobs because it is my understanding that anyone who wants a job will find a job. Same with education; anyone who wants to be educated will be educated. My advice would be to follow the American indoctrination and do the best you can do. And stop crying. =*(

that is their own fault, America is a technological workplace, now 2/3 jobs need a degree, and that # is sure to increase.

there will always be a demand for manuel labor {construction, car repair, etc.}, so if you get a degree, immigration should not affect work because 66% of aliens dont even have a high school diploma

stay in school, or lose ur job to an alien

They are too busy, working 60 to 70 hours a week barely getting their bills payed, to go get another job or a further education.
