Well it is really painful to get a tatoo especially when someone is too skinny. The most painful place is definetly on areas were the bones stand out the most like the area around your ribcage. The less painful places are in areas where more fat is accumulated like your legs or your arms.

If you're a chick, you should have no problem. I've heard boys are the whiners, and girls can take the pain much better. Any fleshy or fatty area will be less painful than a bony area. But you are awfully thin, so it may hurt just about anywhere you put it. Anywhere over bones hurts, ribs, spine, ankle, etc. Load up on sugar before you go, carbs are a natural pain killer. It feels like a really tiny knife slicing through your skin. I have about 12 hours worth of tattoos on my lower back. One took about 5 hours, near the end of that it was quite painful. Anything that will take less than two hours shouldn't be that bad. Expect the pain, relax, and you'll be fine.

tattoos are not that painful if you know how to manage pain. i think the least painful is on the upper back near the shoulder. i have always heard that the places that are the least painful are the places with muscles or fat. i have every tattoo on a bone and the least painful was on the shoulder. the ankle bone hurts, the lower back hurts, the pelvic bone (lower belly) hurts. as long as you can remain still and concentrate you will be fine. try talking to a friend when you get it done. make sure that you eat and drink before you go, some people tend to pass out.

Not at all. I'm 4'11.5" tall and at the time of most of my tattoos i weighed 98-100 lbs. and none of them hurt. No matter what people say it all really depends on your pain tolerance. In my experience I believe that the shoulder blade is the least painful. As is the upper arm. I have a tattoo on both and the shoulder blade was my very first. Didn't hurt at all.The biggest part of it all is tolerance. How well can you handle pain? For the most part it just feels like a vibrating massager on your skin while it's being done and like road rash when its done. Just use Tattoo Goo on it til it heals and you'll be fine.
Hope this helps and happy tattooing!

once again, if you get one where you have a little "meat" on your bones it won't hurt. or, i've been told, anywhere where you may have been sunburned in past - it seems to toughen up the skin. but stay away from the top of the foot ~ VERY painful! i'd also like to say, to get it in a discreet place - somewhere you can hide if need be. even tho society is getting more tolerant, most large corporations won't hire with visible tattoos. and if you get married or have some special event where you have to dress up - do you want it to show? also keep in mind, that one day you will grow older - honest it happens to us all - so get one that will still be tasteful when you're older, because you're going to have it for the rest of your life.
btw, i got my first one when i was 42 - i have 4 all together, most people don't know i have them!

Forget the pain! Is this something you want to have on your body for the remainder of your life? Will it still appeal to you when your 75?
I would think twice before getting tattooed. I do not hire anyone that has visible tattoos. I do not care what is under their clothes, but it better stay there. I know a lot of people who wish they never got the tattoo in the first place. They are too trendy.

I have a tattoo in the middle of my lower back. It didn't hurt getting it but it depends on your pain threshold. Before the artist started tattooing me he said "now when you start to cry try not to heave because it will mess me up" I was expecting the worst and it wasn't bad at all. It did feel different going across my spine, not any worse then the other parts, just different. Good Luck!

I got a tattoo on my shoulder and it didn't hurt, my daughter got one on her belly, and felt so relaxed she wanted to doze off. My friend had one on her lower back which was fine and then one on her foot and had to have a break half way through to be sick, she also wanted to pass out with the pain. Her partner had one on his chest and this really hurt too. We are all thin so i don't think this is really a factor, just where you get it done. Myself and my daughters are in places that can be hidden as we get older, there is nothing worse than seeing an old granny with aged tattoos down her arms!!!

The guy who did my tattoo said the most painful places are right over the spine and near lymph glands. I got one on my lower back a little over a year ago. It does hurt over the spine, but it didn't hurt enough to make my eyes water or anything like that. If you really, really want a tattoo then the painful is pretty relative.

it depends on several factors.. where? how big? and whether or not you can handle pain.. I have six ..All in different spots and all can be covered if the need be Alittle more than getting your hair pulled ,and not as bad as a tooth ache. And your skin will actually become used to it .becoming slightly numb. the bigger the tatoo the easier it will be to handle it .
Neck, feet, hands , Lower stomache, behind the knee, face the places you have more blood vessels ---{the more feeling }
