depends on the type of food poisoning, and the symptoms.
If the food was mushrooms, then the intensive care unit in a hospital would be the minimum.
If it is simply too much food in the holiday season, then a couple of packets of medicinal activated charcoal, lots of mint tea and plenty of rest.

Nausea, vomitting, possible fever, chills, diarrhea, and not too many aching joints as with the flu. The key is, DO NOT take anything to stop the diarrhea. You have to let it run its course. You want your body to get rid of the bacteria, and this is how it does it. It usually starts with vomitting and as it works its way through your system it ends up with diarrhea. Drink plenty of water and or gatorade and or fruit jucies to stay hydrated. To warrant a trip to the ER you need to have at least 3-4 days of sustained vomitting and or diarrhea to become truly dehydrated. Good luck.

I had food poisoning, and I threw up or you could just get diareea. Either way, it's not the most plesant experiance and it's smelly. So something to do with the digestive tract, and I believe those are the main or only symptoms.
