You have to be straight with him, not matter how hard it may be. Tell him to cut the calls, quit stopping by, and that you want nothing to do with him anymore. Start with a fresh new beginning, find some kind of activity to keep your mind occupied, go out with friends. Who knows, you might find someone new in the process.

Next time he stops by or calls tell him that his efforts would be best spent on her and not to call or stop by anymore. Then do not answer his calls and start dating again

Get together for coffee or lunch and discuss it. Tell him that it would be easier (for now) not to be in contact, and explain to him that if he cares for you he will honor your wishes. If that doesn't work, don't take his calls.

Be true to yourself. Once you are able to be true to yourself then letting him go will come with ease. When you do let him "go" completely, let him stay gone.
