I have a friend who is in a similar situation. She was brought to this country by her parents when she was 3. Basically right now there is nothing to be done. Even if your friend came here legally, as soon as he/she turns 18 the clock starts ticking as if you had a visa from your 18th birthday. So if your friend had left before 180 days were up, no ban would be placed on him/her. If he/she left from 180-1 year after the 18th birthday, a 3 year ban would be placed, after 1 year it is a 10 year ban.

My friend saw a lawyer, he said there is nothing he can do for her and told her that the best thing she could do is fall in love and get married. Tell your friend to get married.

Well if they were brought to the US illegally, then they can be deported back to their home country. It may not sound fair, but that is the law. Maybe your friend can get an immigration lawyer to help him/her become legal so he/she can stay.
