I remember seeing; and have seen bring it up multiple times. (BTW, Im Catholic) Where in the Bible does it talk about the final war/battle in Israel when Israel and a Western power (Who I think is America) will be on the edge of defeat against the "Bear" and the "Dragon" (Who I beleive to be Russia and China) and some Angel from Heaven comes down and destroys the forces opposing Israel?
It might not happen exactly like that, but thats just how I remember it. Im thinking it has something to do w/ Armagedon; but anyone out there that knows, can you please tell me where to find this passage?

Look in Revelations. The final war, Armageddon is decribed there and precedes a thousand years of peace followed by the end of the world. Jurusalem is mentioned, but I am not so sure about Israel. I have never seen a biblical referrence to a western power or a bear and a dragon. These, I assume are interpretations, which are much like opinions, everybody has one.

ARMAGEDDON IS SIMPLY HIS WAR TO CLEAN THE EARTH OF WICKED PEOPLE & ALL BAD THINGS THAT EXIST, & PEOPLE WHOSE WORSHIP IS UNACCEPTABLE TO HIM.
Why, though, would God wage a global war? Armageddon is closely related to one of his cardinal qualities, justice. The Bible declares: “God is a lover of justice.” (Psalm 37:28) He has seen all the acts of injustice perpetrated during man’s history. This naturally provokes his righteous displeasure. Thus, he has appointed his Son to wage a just war in order to do away with this entire wicked system.
Only God is capable of waging a truly just and truly selective war during which righthearted individuals, wherever they may be on earth, will be preserved. ) And only he has the right to impose his sovereignty over all the earth, for it is his creation. Revelation 4:11.
What about survivors? Indeed, no one needs to perish at Armageddon. The apostle Peter observed: “God, does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9) And the apostle Paul stated that God’s “will is that all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth.”
Consider the good Har–Magedon promises to achieve, godly humanity’s peaceful future on this planet, no more pollution, no more war, no more poverty, no more disease or even death. God promises: “Look! I am making all things new.” Revelation 21:3,4

A good book to read about the end times, that is not fiction, would be the Millenium by Lorraine Boettner. It puts forth what the three different major views are concerning the end times. It also, contains a lot of scripture proof texts for the different views. Hope this helps!:)

For goodness sake, the people of the 14th Century believed the 4 horsemen were stampeding over their world and they had a better argument than we do today. BTW the german people of the 30 year's war (1618-1648) thought so as well.
Every time the middle east heats up its Revelations time again....
I sincerely hope the White house isn't waiting for an angel to get them out of Iraq....

The Book of Revelation in the Bible is where you read about the battle of Armagedon. Try the 19th chapter.

It's right next to the passage that says anyone who works on Sunday should be put to death (Exdus 35:2). So when Armageddon hits, it will be all the Christian religions that start it by killing everyone at Starbuck's, Wal-Mart, airports and malls all over the world.
The Christians will be able to justify breaking the Sixth Commandment by quoting Psalms 139:16- "You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your book!" and claiming they were sent by God himself to do his divine will.
They will then enslave all non-Christians according to Exodus chapter 21 and lynch all teenagers that talked back to their parents per the instructions in Deut 21:18-21.
God sure does want to kill a lot of people, doesn't he?

there in basic terms isn't a very final conflict till nature does it particularly is worst. guy does not have the flair of inflicting a real Armageddon. of direction it is of little convenience once you be in the kill zone of an sincere attempt.

The Dragons and Beasts are referring to countries. When reading prophesy remember that much of it is symbolic.

interesting view, i always viewed these dragons and other beasts it talks about to be some form of technology we have today. after all how do you think a man of that time period would describe an attack helicopter? or a tank? or a flame thrower? (could there be some kind of flame throwing tank - would that be similar to a dragon?) revelation is all symbolic. i love to find different ways to look at things. if you have any other ideas, feel free to email them to me. ^^
