I believe that it's a rumor that has been circulated around for years and years. The only way your hair will be thicker is if the numbers of individual hairs increase. I don't really see how just by shaving your hair, that it'll increase the number of your hair follicles.

No. Shaving shears off the hair shaft, so the thickest middle part of the hair begins to emerge from your skin, while waxing and plucking remove the entire hair, so the thin top part of a new hair is what you see first.
Shaving only makes the hair *look* like it's thicker. As for longer, that's in your genes, and shaving can't affect that.
Now, waxing may make it grow in thinner and shorter, but that's from damage to the follicle.

Does the hair on your head grow back thicker and longer when you cut it? Obviously, no. If this were true, everyone would eventually be covered in hair.

NO it is a wivestale. You only have so many follicles. And shaving doesn't make them any bigger or thicker. I have shaved my arms since I was 12 and it hasn't grown back and differently then I was 12.

You will get conflicting answers on this. Some will say yes, others no. But there is no scientific evidence to say it actually does.
