Drontal kills adult tapeworm infestations (and some other parasites) in the intestinal tract of your dog.
It's a small tablet that you can either get your dog to swallow or break it up into small pieces and give it with some soft food for him to eat.
Usually the next day the dog will expel the parasites in their faeces. You will most likely not see anything unusual in their stool unless you look pretty closely.
It does not cause any discomfort to the dog and is quite mild. But it does the trick.
In some cases a vet may instruct you to give a second pill to the dog a week after the first, to make sure the eggs (which would have hatched by then) are also eradicated from the intestinal system.
The pills are round and white and able to be broken into 4 pieces. A small dog (under 20lbs) would be given 1/4 tablet, etc. The directions are on the package.

Have used it for years on my dogs and cats. The thing about tape worms is the origination which is usually fleas. The adult fleas harbor tape worm eggs, the fleas are swallowed by the dog or cat licking their fur and swallowing the fleas. So I would treat the dog for fleas as well as tape worms. One treatment of Droncit usually does the trick and works pretty fast. I have seen Droncit for sale at www.petmedexpress.com. they are a pet supply wholesaler. pretty good prices too.
