Why can I only watch the children's DVDs? I have a Phillips LX3000D.?

When we try to watch any DVD , after loading, the screen eventually says No Disc.
It plays most of the children's DVD and free ones off the paper, but nothing that is not a U.

I have checked with the manual and reset it to factory settings, so don't think parental lock is on.

Robert sounds correct, check the menu's or handbook for parental controls.
