I would like to shape up my thighs for the summer, i know its only december, but i also know that these things can take a very long time. If anyone has any exercises or dietery advice it would really help.

You can't target fat loss on any particular part of the body, you lose it all over at roughly the same rate. By building muscle on your legs you will help convert fat and give your legs more definition/tone. Try cross trainers, running, swimming or classes like step aerobics, circuit training or LBT (legs, bums and tums). Good luck.

Get a pedometer - an electronic one, not one of those pendulum things you have to clip to your waistband. The electronic ones can be carried in your pocket or bag (or bra if you have neither)record all your steps. I have the Omron HJ 113 (got it from amazon) it re-sets itself at midnight, stores all your steps for the past 7 days.

Aim to walk about 10,000 steps a day. If this seems too much, start at 6k and work up gradually. This is a small, friendly, uncommercial website for pedometer enthusiasts, where you can log your steps and they work out your average.

There is some friendly rivalry which keeps you motivated. I started in March and have slowly lost a stone, without dieting

I'm trying to do the same thing. I figure if I start now, my legs may be presentable by summer. I am using a stair stepper and a thigh master. I hope it works!
