she has a milky discharge coming from her teats, has anyone else had this problem? we have not noticed any blood from her rear. could it be a phantom pregnancy?? she is a 14 month old husky, we have only had her about 2 months and did not have a lot of info about her. they said she had not been speyed but did not say if she had already had a season.

she seems to be more clingy than normal, and is not eating as much as normal. i know this last bit seems sounds like the right symptoms, but i have not seen the teat discharge on other peoples qestions before so am a bit worried. i will take her to the vets on friday so please dont give that as an answer!!

thanks

Is it possible that she is pregnant? Sure sounds like it to me. Have the vet check for that. If you've had her for 2 months and she got impregnated before you got her, she could be due VERY soon! Dogs that are in heat do not have milky discharge. The timeline is just about right for her to have gone in to heat at 6 months, then 12 months and gotten pregnant, and now she's due.
Good luck!

Sounds like you've been sold a pregnant dog. The previous owners probably bought her to breed , but another type of dog has got into her, meaning she's useless for money making purposes. I hope it is just a phantom, but have never heard of discharge from teats in these cases. Good luck!

Given the length of time you've had your girl, whelping would be imminent, and she's a breed that would definitely look pregnant, there shoudn't be any doubt about it. I'd say that she most likely had her 2nd season prior to you getting her, and what followed is a phantom pregnancy. I've known bitches having phantoms, that actually produced milk. Most veterinarians tell you to give extra exercise. Don't try to draw off any of this milky substance, it will encourage her to make more. She should dry up naturally if she's not stimulated.

Yes it's very likely to be a phantom pregnency and is a very common symptom,my own dog had it a month ago and her teats swelled as if she was really pregnent. It's normally nothing to worry about and stops naturally but if you are worried about her then the vets can help stop the milk producing.Ask about spaying her aswell as this will end more phantom pregnencies and related diseases in unspayed bitches.Good luck

If you have had her for 2 months and she has NOT been outside unsupervised, ask the vet about uterine infection.

If she was pregnant when you got her, she'd be about ready to pop with just one more week to go.

If in fact she has been spayed, obviously it isn't a uterus issue or pregnancy and she will never come "into season". Does she have a scar on her belly about 6" long?

i breed staffordshire bull terriers and they tend to have a season once every 6 months. The only time i have experienced them having a milky discharge is when they have been in pup (pregnant). if sheis 14 months old i would say she has already had 1/2 seasons. is there ant chance she colud be in pup

Sounds more like pregnancy or false pregnancy.

ZOOM, ZOOM, ZOOM to the vet for a progesterone test. She might already be pregnant!
