Umm, no. There are apartments, townhouses, brownstones. And in like brooklyn, queens, staten island, and long island there are almost ONLY houses. So in answer to ur question no there are not only apartments in New York, there are plenty of houses. I live in a house and i also dont want to live in an apartment. GOOD LUCK!!

There are houses and townhouses as well, but they are expensive, unless they are run down! You do not say from where you are moving, or what you are going to be doing in New York. If you are not loaded or are not willing to live with a pile of roommates, get prepared for disappointment! You're going to be living in an apartment.
