In an earlier post, just moments ago, a guy was asking a question about christians -- and he accurately pointed out that Hitler was among its members (raised Catholic and followed it, even wrote about it), and he made a few other points.
of course, one christian replied in a panic and said "Of course Hitler claimed to be a Christian. he was full of the devil, and a liar."
So, does that mean that everyone who claims to be a christian is full of the devil and a liar? or only those making the claim that you wish to keep out of your cult, so the cult's pretty and sparkly image can be "maintained"?
it's funny, isn't it, how someone is a christian when it does the cult some good, then the moment they do something bad, suddenly it's "oh, was never really a true christian" -- and they wash their hands of the "problem" and sneak away quietly, hoping nobody notices the connection?
christianity has been killing tens of millions for centuries. have you really just "never noticed"?

See? This is the mindlessness I am talking about here. One "dude" below, wrote this about Hitler: "If he held any religious beliefs at all, they were pagan (as witnessed by the choice of the swastika as the symbol of his party....a hindu symbol" ------ This is your proof?? His party's symbol??? What about Republicans and their Elephant? Democrats and their Donkey? Are they all pagans?? Your logic says Hindu is pagan??? The US doesn't have a "cross" as its symbol - we have an Eagle as our central symbol. And a stars and stripes flag denoting our 50 current states and the 13 original colonies.
Honestly, i don't know where you people come up with these "ideas" and "conclusions" and label them "history" and yor interpretation of it. You are a perfect example of why christians and others are always accused of trying to rewrite history -- and why the bible-home-schooled are so misled by this whacked-out nonsense and so-called historic interpretation.
Unbelievable.

It's a fairly standard response from almost any group, really - when faced with a bad apple, few people really want to associate with them. At least, after the fact.
To some extent, I can see why - there's plenty of examples of people who claim to be part of a group, but don't appear to hold that group's values particularly close to heart. However, it's really hard to tell if the person really was just using the group as a cover, or if they really believed in what they claimed to believe. IMO, we can't really make that distinction, until we gain the ability to read people's hearts.
But, yes, I find it rather annoying that people are willing to allow some groups to "excommunicate" the bad examples, yet don't allow others - so that we hear claims about, say "Satanic crime", but never hear anyone talk about "Christian crime."

As a Catholic priest, I can only speak of the Catholic Church. We have apologized for our sins and even made amends. We admit our historical sins and learn from them. For example, people who are angry with religion have brought up the Crusades in the Catholic Church. It was wrong of the Church to promote such violence, but since then how many Crusades have we had? And yet, they still bring it up as if we never admitted to it or changed from it.
Have we denied the sex scandal? We had for years, but now we do not! And yes, people will say, "you apologize because you were caught, not because you are sorry." Yet, what human being ever felt sorry first. We all feel the embarrassment of being caught and in reflection we finally truly apologize. So, why expect anything different from the human members of the Catholic Church? We have admitted to it and are taking means to make amends. And so, you see our history is imperfect, but the Church is not. If the Church were controlled by humanity, or begun by human hands, then it would have collapsed centuries ago. We have been through persecutions, corruption, bankruptcy, etc. etc. and the Church still stands. Obviously there is a God who is in charge of it and sustains it. And no amount of human weakness can destroy it.
Finally, any who act as Hitler did is not truly a Christian. This is not to say he was never a part of the Catholic Church. What we are saying he is a Catholic that did not live authentically with the Gospel of Christ. In fact, he forsook the Church in favor of his political and racial beliefs. And so, could you really call that person a true Christian, when their beliefs and life run contrary to Christianity?
I hope this has been helpful. May the Lord bless and keep you. May He let the light of His face shine upon you.
God's and your beast of burden

This so-called "question" contains many outright lies and gross distortions about the bible and true Christianity. Here are a few Scriptural thoughts to consider:
(Romans 16:17) Keep your eye on those who cause divisions and occasions for stumbling contrary to the teaching that you have learned, and avoid them.
(2 Corinthians 4:4-6) The god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers
(Philippians 2:14-15) In among a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you are shining as illuminators in the world
(1 Timothy 6:3-5) If any man teaches other doctrine and does not assent to healthful words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, nor to the teaching that accords with godly devotion, he is puffed up with pride, not understanding anything, but being mentally diseased over questionings and debates about words. From these things spring envy, strife, abusive speeches, wicked suspicions, violent disputes about trifles on the part of men corrupted in mind and despoiled of the truth

We are all call to be Christians and our conversion is needed everyday. We don't convert once and for all, we are humans, we are weak and we are slave to sin. We are all Hitlers sometimes, when we take justice upon ourselves and we think 'we know what is right'. Sometimes i am scared of myself. Christianity is a fight against good and evil. Jesus said: "do not let sun come down before you have reconcile with your neighbor", so every day is a combat against the evil and the passions inside of us. We choose daily where we want to be, we fight or we let go. There are no half Christians, you are a Christian or your not, it depends on the way we live daily, with faith in God. He is the only one who could give us the grace and the strength to overcome the daily struggles.

No men have been killing men for years and calling themselves Christians.
Jesus walked the earth with the Temple worshipers called Pharisees and Sadducees and Jesus called them vipers, den of thieves and hypocrits. Jesus didn't think too much of the church folks either.
Just because you call yourself Christian doesn't make you a Christian. Jesus said to many He will say, "I never knew you."
Not all of the Popes have been a Christian. I will even say, "Most of the Popes have not been Christian." Jesus said it will be easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. The Pope is the richest man in the world. I doubt if the words "Convert or die" will ever get anyone into heaven. Most definitely no religion will ever get anyone into heaven.
You need to remember that Satan is the Angel of Light and the great deceiver so he'll call himself Christian to deceive.

Another lie willfully perpetrated by the secular mis-historians.
Hitler was born into a catholic family....true. However, he, himself, renounced catholicism and all christianity. If he held any religious beliefs at all, they were pagan (as witnessed by the choice of the swastika as the symbol of his party....a hindu symbol). That said, Hitler and his inner circle were not stupid people. They realized, quite correctly, that the German people were christian and thus they played the 'god card' to appeal to the people's sense of right and wrong. Only after the war did most Germans realize how they allowed themselves to be led so far astray from their christian faith.

Actually hundreds of millions of Christians have been martyred by people of other religions through the ages. Look at what's happening in Darfur. Yep! Those are Christians who are being slaughtered. The world would have you think that Christians are evil people but this could be nothing further from the truth.
What qualifies someone as being a true Christian? Someone who has been saved by Jesus Christ and who believes the Bible.

1) Hitler was not a Christian, please reveal where he claimed such. People are raised in the church quite often, and sometimes write about it while not necesarily professing or following the faith. I've only heard that Hitler had disdain for the church, especially the Catholic church.
2) 4000 years before Christianity, pagans were slaughtering people left and right. No one ever complains about that.

When someone believes that there are contradictions or things wrong with bible and say they leave christianity because of it, that usually isn't the real reason. Usually it's because they are in some kind of sin or addiction and want an excuse to run away from God and the church.

Hitler was a catholic but that does not mean he was a christian. 99% of catholics are not born again, saved believers. Most are just religious, infant baptized, lost souls. They should read and study there bibles. There is no hope in the pope, only Jesus.
