How sure are you that he did?

Many faiths teach that this life is but a dream that we dream as we sleep blissfully in the arms of the creator.

It makes a lot of sense if you think about it.

This looks to be the weekly addition of "what is the purpose of life" question.. I'll answer because I want those who ask to know the real reason... It's Love, God nature requires Him to Love. He can't be God and not Love.. That's why we are here.... Jim

God created mankind in order to have a relationship with something that was very much like Him.

First of all, God created us in His image. He wants us to become "gods" who are much like Him so that he can have real relationships.

God is a spiritual AND physical being. He created us likewise.

God wanted companions that behaved like Himself. This is why He gave us His law. He wanted to show us, through the law, what His behavior was like, and that if we behaved LIKE HIM he wanted to spend eternity with us. If we did not behave like Him, than he would separate us from Himself.

We are both spiritual and physical beings created in the image of God to be LIKE Him in many ways. You have a choice: be righteous LIKE HE IS and therefore show that you wish to associate yourself with Him. OR, be unrighteous, therefore showing that you want nothing to do with Him.

I don't know why people just don't get it.

Since God is complete in and of himself, needing nothing for existence, and happy in and of himself, we know he wasn't lonely.

1 John 4:8 tells us that "God is love". All of his acts are moved by love. 1 Timothy 1:11 tells us that he is "the happy God". Since he enjoyed his life, he wanted other creatures to enjoy their lives to. So as an act of love, he bestowed other intelligent, sentient creatures with life.

He had already created the angels who live with him in his spirit realm of heaven. before he created men. Job 38 speaks of creation, and then, in vs. 7 it tells us:

"When the morning stars joyfully cried out together, And all the sons of God began shouting in applause?"

So they were there when mankind came on the scene, as a unique creation. For the first time, he brought about creatures who could not see him, but have a relationship with him. Creatures whose entire relationship, due to their construction, was built on faith.

Why on earth? For it to become a global paradise, to be inhabited, as was the Garden of Eden.

"For thus says Yahweh who created the heavens, the God who formed the earth and made it, who established it and didn't create it a waste, who formed it to be inhabited: "I am Yahweh; and there is no other." - Isaiah 45:18.

"God blessed them. God said to them, "Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." - Genesis 1:28

We can then come to kno whim, to find out his qualities as he reveals them to us, his love, justice, wisdom and power. We can draw close to him, and worship him, as the creation is due their creator.

He created us for Himself so He wanted children to love Him. The angels can serve Him, but not once has it ever been mentioned that angels can love. This should let us know how powerful love is.

For us to glorify Him. Fellowship.

How can the clay ask the potter why? How can a painting ask the painter why this?

So He could be in fellowship with us. So that we would experiance true love like He does.
