i have a really close guy friend that everytime he gets into a relationship he doesnt really talk to me but as soon as him and his gf split he wants to know me and hangout and he never lets me meet his gf's is he just using me?

i wouldnt say using u might just be that person he knows will be there for him when the others leave. how close is close?do u have sex if u do then u r a rebound girl.if not he might just know he can come to u anytime no matter what.

Depending how "close" you two get when you're friends again then that's the answer to if he's using you or not. If you're intimate & then he ditches you to find a new love then he's totally using you.
If you two are just hangout buddies who talk about relationships & problems & stuff like that then maybe he's just in need of a friend at that point & is still using you but as a friend. You're going to have to analyze the situtation & determine how things really are.

I don't know if using you is a correct term. He loves your advice, and loves to hang out with you. But when he has a girlfriend (he is one of those guys that goes head over heels when he is with a new woman) he really can't hang out with you--as you are a girl. I would venture to say that he doesn't see much of his male friends either when he has a new woman.
He really like you and treasures your friendship--he just can't figure out how to juggle friendships and girlfriends at the same time.

I cant really tell by what you have said.
It almost seems like he is shy, like he might want to be with you but doesn't think he can. And likewise is ashamed of his lower status girlfriends.
Thats an idea, you would know for sure.
