i need help with my friend?

i have a friend. it's a he and he getting all thed up about his girlfriend he broke up with. i tryed to make happy and i did it but he's still not the same. we been friend since 5th grade. i told him i could be his girlfriend and he liked that idea but im not sure when to start because im afraid i'll scare him.
