i don't like to mention i'm in the army
i want one girl inparticular to like me for me.

Well maybe u feel awkward because u dont want her to judge u based on where u work at. Like if someone said they worked at McDonalds, would u really want to get to know that person more? You'll find a girl who loves that ur in the army because u care for everyone's well being. Thats extremely sexy! =)

You should be PROUD to say that you are in the Army.... that takes a brave person. Just b/c you are in the Army does not mean that she will only like you b/c of it. I would rather get to know a guy before I dated him if I knew he was in the Army b/c dating an Army guy can be hard b/c of the distance. You need to honest with her b/c if she falls for you and you do not tell her you are in the army it could ruin what you guys have started.

maybe ur subconciously aware of all the widows whos husbands have died in iraq and any other wars for that matter....its quite a common subject on the news atm anyway and maybe u think a girl will go off u because they dont like the fact u will be away quite a lot. But believe me if a girl likes u they wont care about that....u just need to find the one who doesnt care about anything other than the fact that they love u

you will find a women who loves you for you eventually... but most women and maybe this is generalisation do not want to marry someone who will probably die next week... I am sorry but it is a reality you have chosen that career for a reason I am probably being harsh, my brother is in the army and he can not find a nice women only gold diggers, my friend went out with an army boy and during their relationship he decided to leave and is now a fireman. He is unquestionable much happier.

You'll be able to tell why a girl likes you, so don't worry about telling them that you are in the Army. I don't think career makes that much difference to most people, and you'll know if she only likes you because of what you do.

I can feel you. I am also in the military and when people find out for the most part it puts them off for some reason. But dont let her know. Im a 63B20. I just tell people that Im a mechanic by trade.

I expected this to be about stacking shelves in Sainsbury's (although that's a great job too).
Anyway, what's so bad about being in the Army? Loads of girls love a man in uniform so there's no need to feel embarrassed about it.

Why should you feel awkward? You should feel proud to be in the army! Tell her! If she doesnt like you because of it, then she isnt the right girl for you!

well u need some self confidence if u don't want to tell her that u are in the army maybe it's because u really like her and u think she might not approve of your job but if i was u i would tell her

It sounds like your afraid of having people accept you for who you are and what you do. Or worried that they will want to be with you just because of your career.
If someone really cares about you theyre not just gonna look at you because of the job you do or your career.
Try to build up your self confidence and be proud of yourself and what you do. Give yourself a chance and the other person you want to be with a chance to love you for who you are. good luck.
