Dump it. It is unfair, other countries have the same problems, but don't get the benefits that the Cubans get. They have a very strong lobby with the republican party but I think people are sick of it, so hopefully the policy will die with Fidel.

I guess we would have to know more about the situation replacing Castro, wouldn't we?
However, according to news last year when Bush relaxed laws to let in family of those already here from Cuba, it was intended as an overall policy change, post Castro, which would remove the wet foot dry foot policy and focus more on family reunification principles applicable to other immigrant groups.
Since Bush right now has all the political magnetism of a flabby noodle, no saying if his policy will carry the day whenever it is that Castro dies. However, I am repeating what I heard.

I don't think we should of ever had it in the first place. Just politicians trying to compromise because of another one of Jimmy (checkbook) Carters failures as president back in the 70's

Yes, because Cubans look down on "illegals" when they are doing exactly the same thing except they get instant amnesty. Those islanders need to learn we are all equal.
