I had this problem a long time ago, when 4x CD drives were popular. This is not a problem with your monitor, but your PC!

If you skip tracks, do they sometimes play at the correct speed?

It's worth noting that there used to be an audio cable between the CD drive and the sound card (or motherboard). This carries a fairly poor audio signal to the sound device. The CD drive itself is responsible for decoding the audio.

These days it's more popular to not use that cable, but to send a digital signal from the CD drive to the sound card, so that the sound card (which will be better quality), is able to decode the audio.

This is actually much easier than it sounds:
Control Panel -> Sounds Speech and Audio -> Sounds and Audio -> Hardware

In there should be listed your CD drive[s], double click it and go to Properties. At the bottom tick the box that says "Enable digital CD audio for this CD-ROM device"

Those instruction may vary slightly between versions of Windows.

Uninstall Windows Media Player 10 and Reinstall it.

If this does`nt help. Then buy a new Disc as it may be scratched.

STILL! IF YOU HAVE PROBLEM then you should buy a new CD Drive.

Could be a drive problem...or.....try downloading a different media player to see if that resolves the problem. Try realplayer...set it as your default player...if that doesn't solve it then that narrows it down somewhat.

Get a new CD Player. Or your discs might be scratched.

The best and the cheapest solution to learn how to sing is doing it over the internet. You should check out Aaron Anastasi's singing video lessons here: ( http://learnhowtosing.kyma.info ) The videos are very easy to follow and to my surprise extremely helpful even for advanced singers. For beginners I would have to say this is a gold mine. I was able to improve my singing, voice tone and range in just under two weeks and I am an advanced musician, been doing this for the last 7 years.
I wanted to go to a singing teacher but that would have cost me too much. Internet is the best solution! You can easily learn how to sing online.
