Any thing can happen but if it has never happened yet it may or may not be possible, nobody knows. They did'nt think cloning was possible either until someone discovered that it was and now it is done. They didn't think flying was possible until they started flying, and now they go the moon and even further. I believe anything is possible, but not in the way that we expect.
P.S. as for your other comment,feeling compassion is not a sin, but Jesus did the dying, you don't have to. He said give your burdens to Him and He will carry them. If you have a burden for a dying person, that's the reason that He did the suffering on the cross, so that you could let Him carry it.
It is a good thing to have compassion, but don't let it eat you up and destroy your life. The other person needs your prayers more than anything right now, and if you belive that anything can happen, here is a scripture for you that might help.
Mathew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said,With men this is impossible, but all things are possible with God.
If you feel that you are suffering the other persons pain, that is like sympathy pains. It is compassion. You are hurting with that person. If it is too much, once again, give it to the Lord and let Him carry it for you. I hope this helped you.
It seems to me that you feel like you switched bodies with your suffering friend, but really you are just suffering with your friend.

I can think of a few people that I would like to trade bodies with but I don't think it is possible. There are a few cultures that believe they can do it though.

No, everything can not happen. So no, you can't trade bodies until medical science perfects the brain transplant. And I have a feeling they won't be trading brains back and forth like that.
