If you're hair is thin, and doesn't seem like it grows much, get a slight trim every few weeks. Little trims help your hair grow. For thickness, I have the same problem. I use volumizing shampoos and conditioners, and use a round styling brush when you blow dry. I adds a little curl, and a lot of volume to your hair.

Taking care of your hair helps, conditioning, keeping it clean, and massaging the scalp often works. Try taking a multivitamin loaded with B vitamins especially Biotin the culprit for longer thicker hair.

if you want your hair to grow at a faster rate, make sure to get regular trims, and make sure that you have iron in your daily foods. For the thickness part, i would use shampoo such as garnier fructis long and strong, or any long, volumizing shampoos and conditioners

i used to relax my hair too but i stopped and started washing and condition regularly and i also use this product called "Dr.Miracle Growth" and it really works. but this may not work so you should have a intake of daily vitamins (hair is just dead protein)
