I do not have a negative image towards Islam, I find it a very beautiful religion. People have a negative attitude towards it because they fail to understand and know anything about it at all, except what they see in the media.

For the person that talks about capital punishment, fundamental Christians believe in and that the Bible endorses capital punishment, particularly the Old Testament. Actually the Old Testament requires Capital Punishment, where the Quran actually mentions the word kill or murder on only 18 different pages of it's entire text, and almost every incidence is to warn against it. Also the Quran may say, like under Hebrew law, capital punishment is a right that you have to request, it is higher standard to forgive.

Peter there are Muslims showing compassion everyday they just don't make the news. Just like there are Christians and Jews showing compassion and Christians and Jews that only show hate.

To the person above who said all terrorist are Muslims. Terrorism exists in all forms from eco to political terrorists. Terrorists can be found in every race religion and creed. There are thousands of known terrorist organizations in the world, less the 25 % of them are of Islamic orgin the US State Department will even tell you that.

They do because of all the terrorism in the world, most terrorists are muslims. So people at first thought think Islam is a religion of hatred, and have a negative attitude towards it. Those people are those that dont want to learn in depth of Islam.

I think because it's trendy to hate things like Islam that nobody knows about, but gets all their information from a 3 minute segment on 60 minutes. If people actually took the trouble to earnestly see what Islam teaches and what 1.2 of the 1.3 billion muslims on earth practice, they'd see it's not that different from Christianity and Judaism, and in some way is more palatable.

But then you couldn't have as much hate-speech and bigotry against a fifth of the worlds population. Those folks need hate in their lives to feel complete, so they pick a target that is foreign and unknown in the West, Islam.

People believe what they are told, and mainstream media in this country has been doing a job on Muslims. A lot of Americans equate Muslims with terrorist. I am not a Muslim, nor an apologist for Islam, but I have lived in Islamic countries. I have had many Muslim friends. They were friendly and not at all hostile to Christianity. Its too bad that so many people are so easily led.

Faith must not be confused with the faithfuls. Sometimes, the faithfuls are too obsessed with the faith that they forget the Prophet's injunction to choose not the extreme or the lesser but the middle - Moderation.

I as a Muslim have no respect whatsoever for al-Qaeda or anyone who has something to do with 9/11. And so does millions of Muslims worldwide. We are humans with feelings and compassion too. Thus, please don't judge the whole religion by the actions of not even close to 1% of the total believers.

Happy Holidays.

Peace and Love.

It's weird that we don't consider Christains as terrorists althought the Oklahoma bomber was a Christian..
And it's weird that we don't consider all Germans till the end of time are terrorists cuz of the Holocoust ..
But it's fine to label ALL Muslims to be terrorist although there are over a billion Muslims in the world and have nothing to do with terrorism and r living in peace and minding their own business..but cuz a fraction of them commited an evil act we should condemn ALL of them..

Just my 2 cents !!
