For exp: Look at Gen 2:13. "In the original KJV it says:
And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia"
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=genisis%202:13;&version=9;
In the New International Version it says:
The name of the second river is the Gihon; it winds through the entire land of Cush. [a]
Footnotes:
1. Genesis 2:13 Possibly southeast Mesopotamia

In the later bible it has taken Ethopia/Cush out of Africa and moved it somewhere else. Sounds like straight racism to me. Seems like they want us to think Blacks had nothing to do with anything!

The responses I got are off base. The only piont I am making is why was it changed. Why change the word of God at will. We always get these express Bibles from heaven with no explaination why it was changed. You never see Africans in any bible stories. The only black person I have ever seen was Judas. If it does not matter what color the peolpe are in the bible then why are they allways White? Constitine and the French had slaves during the conference of Nicene. They were bigots. So why would it be surprising that they would exclude Africans? They were trying to uphold the White man is Superior theory.

Cush is the ancient name of Ethiopia, and is in the same place as it is today.. Blacks did not originally occupy Cush (Ethiopia). The river Gihon is thought by most students of the Bible (Serious and knowledgeable students) to be the Persian Gulf today. We know the geography of the Tigris, Euphrates Valley has changed much in the past 6000 years. To answer your question: No!

NO that is silly. GOD created all colors why would HE put any of them down? The writers were only writing what they were told,by GOD, to write.
Don't look for an occasion to be offended in everything. You don't want to be like the extreme muslims who see everything as a reason to "go off" on somebody.
I understand that in the past Black ppl have been treated badly and sometimes they still are but no more than the Jews or many other ppl groups are.

In the flood, the entire surface topography changed. The location of Cush (Ethiopia) vis-a-vis the rest of the Middle East changed as a result. A biblical version of plate tectonics.

It is not about being black or white or any other color. It is all about Jesus. I have no explanation for the variations in the translations other than personal opinion creeping in or mistakes in geography, but I seriously doubt that racist opinions have had anything to do with it.

I know there IS racism in the world! There unfortunatley plenty to go around. But stop trying to look for it in DUMB places!!! Start by trying to eliminate it in the places it truely does exist.

Why don't you get the NRSV, the Scholar's Bible. They translate from the oldest sources available and any debate in translation is in the footnotes. If the original authors were racists, then that's not the translators' fault.

You're approaching this from the wrong angle.
THEIR SCRIPTURE ITSELF is "racist" in that it is the story of a specific people and their relationship with their tribal god.
Of *course* your tribal god is going to favor you over other people. What's the use of having a tribal god that doesn't give you permission to plunder and exploit others, that doesn't uphold your tribal belief that you are better than others?

Why do racial minorities attribute anything they don't like to racism? Excuse me, but I can't hear what you are saying because that chip on your shoulder that defines who you are is shouting at me too loudly!
