im not sure it is bad for you, but i have to be awake at 600am every morning, so i set my alarm for 530 then hit the snooze button until 6. its like it gives you that " hope " that you are actually getting more sleep.

Unless you are snoozing for 20+ minutes you are not getting any quality sleep (only delaying the inevitable!). If you are snoozing that long, go ahead and set your alarm for later so you can get good sleep. A best practice I have discovered (I was once a chronic snooze bar user) is to place my alarm clock across the room so that I have to physically get out of bed to turn it off. I then start my day (i.e. don't get back in bed). I use a loud, irritating alarm that causes me to get up and not just sit and listen to my favorite tunes. Hope this helps you as well!

I have to snooze - but I know it's not good. I am not a morning person! I have the time on my bedroom clock set 20 minutes ahead and I also have to set my alarm clock to go off 45 minutes before I need to get up. I don't even hear it the first couple times, I must just hit the button in my sleep.
By the time I get up, I am really grumpy and grumbling at the clock and the fact that I have to get up. I know if I would just do it, my morning would go smoother, but I just can't.
Mornings Suck!

I would suggest going to bed and getting up at the same times every day (even on weekends). I find If i snooze it is harder to get up. Try taking a hot bath before bed to relax and don't drink any caffeine after 3 pm. That way you can sleep well and feel more refreshed in the morning.

I am bad at snoozing. I find when I don't snooze, I wake up faster and feel more energized throughout the day. Sometimes it is just so hard not to snooze though.

some people say that hitting the snooze button repeatedly make them feel like they have slept in, but others say that it makes your brain feel more tired when you finally do get up.

Well.. if nothing else... it gets you into a bad habit of not really paying any attention to the alarm clock... As far as it making you more tired, doubt it... making you better adapt to the day? doubt it
