Im am going to Argentina and am going to be staying in hotels. Should I take my laptop that is brand new? My mother is from Argentina and she says no don't take it, she does not trust even the hotel people!! What do you think? Has anyone taken their laptop there and had a problem? Or anywhere else in South America? Thanks!

They are to easy to take and to easy to sell. Plus you will have no way to get any kind of insurance claim. I recommend you don't take it. I have had mine stollen but I was lucky because my work replaced mine.

ok I just came from country overseas and yes...I should say you can bring it with you...you shouldn't be vorry about somebody stealing it but more about, will you have internet conection there where you going to.
