I've already presented this question once before but now I'm asking once again just to see what others think. I, personally, believe that it would be better for a child to be sent straight back to God rather than have to be born into a (this is just an example, mind you) family with irresponsible, uneducated, and possibly neglectful parents that never wanted the baby in the first place. But now wait a minute! What if the second coming or some great man was aborted?! I quote from an answer I saw a few days ago from a pro-choice Christian; "Well, I simply refuse to believe that God would send us a great man knowing full well that he would never be born. God knows everything that is, everything that was, and everything that will be, NOTHING can catch him by surprise." Now, of course, I'm not saying any of this is God's word or anything, but simply my opinion and view on this subject. Thoughts?

You are correct that God will take care of the soul of the aborted baby.

The real concern is about the destruction to the souls of everyone else involved, the mother, the father, family and friends, and the medical professionals.

All of these people are harmed spiritually, psychologically and, the mother, even physically by the act of abortion, the murder of an innocent human being.

With love in Christ.

I would like to ask that people on this site not make narrow-minded, ignorant, stereotypical comments about pro-choice people. I am pro-choice and I am a Christian. I don't believe that all babies should be killed or that babies aren't human until they are born. I believe that if the mother of a child cannot care for and nurture her children, she should have the right to abort. Children who are neglected, abused, undereducated and cast aside-- whether by their own mother or by society who doesn't want them unless they're cute little babies-- grow up to be very unstable adults. They become the kind of adults that grow up and do harm to society. I think there are many women, who are forced for religous reasons or otherwise to keep a child they do not want. It's not fair to the child. He/She did not ask to be born and the mother should NEVER bring a child into the world that she does not want. I've seen it happen and the child suffered miserably for the first 8 years of his life until he was given to his granparents. I agree with the answerer you quoted. God would never let a gift to the world be born to a woman who would abort him. God is all powerful, all knowing, and all good. He has everything undercontrol.

Let's help improve the lives of people here that are already born and we won't need to worry about this. Everyone deserves a chance at life. Some of the greatest people alive came from struggling backgrounds and they have done wonders for the world. What if they had not been born?

Pro-choice is not synonymous with pro-abortion. Pro-choice is just believing that the choice should be the woman's decision and not dictate by a government agency.

You can be pro-choice and pro-life at the same time...life can be your choice!!

I think your question is incorrect. You are asking if there is a reason for Christians/Catholics to believe in abortion.

There is a built-in fallacy in your thinking, and that is that man has the power to decide life and death. Only God can decide that - don't even entertain that anything else justifies man taking another's life.
God has a purpose for every life, and how arrogant to decide that a situation and anything we see with our eyes is not enough or is subject to our judgment.

You have a contradiction in terms. No true Christian is "pro-choice". And a baby being born is NEVER a tragedy, as you're trying to fallaciously say. If that were true then God would have had NOBODY ever be born.

So, you're wrong.

Just as the head of catholics for a free choice had happen to her, so must be said of all catholics who promote the heresy of abortion....she has been excommunicated...you cannot be catholic and ascribe to the doctrine of death. Please read humana vitae by Pope John Paul 2. The doctrine of life.

My dear, God is pro-choice. We all have to choose, today and everyday, to love and obey or to go our own way. To the children of Israel, he said to choose life over death and destruction. That was to choose obedience over rebellion. We have the choice and we reap the consequences of our choices.

I pray that as Christians, we choose life (obedience to God) over death (the consequences of sin, rebellion to God's law.)

love peace and joy in the Lord... bud

Someone who is pro-choice is generally a cold-blooded killer. They want to kill all babies, regardless of how old, and deny the obvious personhood of an unborn fetus. Pro-choicers typically are against any sort of limit on baby-killing, even to the point of allowing a viable baby to be killed as it is exiting the womb, because it's not a person till it's born, in their eyes.

Ironically, most people that are for killing babies are against the death penalty, or killing known terrorists. They without exception hate america.

Anyone who declares themself pro-choice should be immediately reported to local police station, or else.
