I seem to worry about health issues alot. I am 22 and should be enjoying life like many tell me, and I am trying. It's like i constantly worry and am scared of any and all diseases that can lead to death. I read stuff and that drives me even more crazy. All that really happens is I just get really scared, and ask worry questions. I call nurses lines alot and ask questions about my symptoms and etc. I guess because knowing that they know about health makes me feel better. i usually just need a peace of mind. my brother who is my age just passed away which doesn't make my worry about death problem any easier. Is this anxiety? or what is it and who can i see about this?
i think to myself okay if i just didnt have this i wouldnt worry. but then something new comes up and i wish i didnt have it either. i worry about small things that can lead to life or death and i just freak out, i worry. over-worry...help?

You need help to overcome these illogical thoughts. You know that they are but you dont know how to stop thyem. If you get therapy and maybe some anti anxiety treatment you will overcome the thoughts and be much happier. The first step is to talk to your doctor. He or she will help you get the right treatment;

OCD is an anxiety disorder. Go to your doctor-he will refer you to someone who will help you. Your doctor probably has other fellow doctors that have OCD and many other people do to. It can be treated and you can learn to deal with it.

Why don't you go to a therapist and see what's wrong? It's better to seek professional help rather than listen to people who have no degree in the matter. Just seek professional help now so your worries will subside. Take care.

It is very natural to be worried about things. It is very human to have all sorts of emotions. However, sometimes one may find one's self worried more about certain things, especially in relation to current events around him or her. I think what you need most is to get yourself involved in some activities. An idle mind is often the devil's workshop.

chances are you have a severe anxiety issue here...the odds are that your physical symptoms are going to be relieved when you understand this is an anxiety attack....You are scared and think you will die because your brother just did...I don't know if you believe in Jesus...but if he is standing at the door of your heart knocking...let Him in.....He will give you peace..

see a physician and explain your problems. sounds like a definite OCD/anxiety issue. very treatable with effexor, an excellent anti-anxiety/anti-OCD drug. you also need to get lots of exercise and start challenging yourself physically. it will help mitigate your feelings of vulnerability and imminent demise. fact is, we all die. it is nothing to fear. the key is to live fully and vigorously and keep a clear head and sound body. best of luck

Hey, we're all going to die, so what are you afraid of? If your worrying changed anything for you, then it would be appropriate, but it doesn't, it's just wasted energy. If you can't get a grip, then you're going to have to get counseling!
