If you can get a picture of it, try posting on Livedeal.com or you could recommend that the shelter advertise on petfinder.com. That would probably be the best way to find homes over the internet. You may also want to contact a husky rescue in your state. They will often take dogs from shelters and find them wonderful homes.

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho I work with someone rescuing dogs and would be happy to tell you any that she has. Just contact me. We don't ship although sometimes travel out to Seattle.
Edit: Teacup Maltese Poodle. That's the most messed up thing I've ever heard! There is no such thing as a teacup and why would you want a mutt? Tell people who breed mixes to leave this planet cause I'm tired of the pain and suffering they cause.
