When jobs illegals do vanish or slow down what then?

An article about slowing construction work in an area. How is it going to work when suddenly 20 million people aren't needed anymore? What will they do then? Who's jobs are next?

See the idiotic liberals in this country don't mind illegals cause they "do jobs nobody wants". This is how it starts, they take menial jobs.........but then, they get free education, and get handouts, eventually climb the ladder, and take other jobs. Soon if we allow it, they will destroy this whole country.

There is always going to be a need for unskilled labor at low wages in the country. If that need vanishes, it is not the illegals' fault--- it means there is something seriously wrong with the US economy. You must understand that recent immigrants are going to be doing the unskilled labor, regardless of if they are legal or illegal. Not all construction work is done by illegals, not everyone who washes dishes in a restaurant is illegal. Sure, many of them are--- but more importantly, unskilled labor is the world of the new wage earners: teenagers and recent immigrants. The particular job may change; maybe it's construction, maybe it's cooking in a restaurant, or working at a dry-cleaner, but it all comes down to the same thing: unskilled labor. And if we ever stop needing it, then our country's problems will be a lot bigger than the current immigration debate.

Construction was one of the excuses by employers to get illegals to work for them for below minimum wage. Now that the construction industry is slowing down some of the illegals will go back to their country of origin, others will find different jobs (meat-packing, service industry...) while a minority will probably go the criminal route.

The illegals MUST GO BACK TO MEXICO! Let's put all the able bodied welfare clients to work and get them off the welfare rolls. As well as those unemployed and seeking work. We also can give the fast food jobs to teens who desire to work during the summer and after school. Of course college students working themselves through college could use some of those jobs. Without the burden of welfare for Mexicans and our citizens on welfare, we would have a substantial savings.

There are allot of young men and women that are jobless & Youth seeking jobs but are not givnen a chance because cheap labor. Their is a huge contsruction company that offers on the job training while work and it recruits young americans that need work.

If Congress passes and the president signs into law legislation permitting illegal, undocumented aliens to firstly, work, and later apply for Legal Permanent Residency, then we are forever committed to those immigrants unless one abandons his/her legal status or is stripped of his/her LPR status by USCIS or the EOIR (Executive Office of Immigration Review. They will be considered to be on equal footing as USCs (United States Citizens) or LPRs.
