What could I use in my bedroom as a natural deodorizer that will not harm them or cause problems in anyway!

I have 15 birds in my bedroom (6 cockatiels) (2 lovebirds) (3 canaries) (4 budgies). Alot, I know its not healthy because of the dust. I clean thier cages everyday I change the paper and wash out food and water bowls and it still smells! I need a natural deodorizer! You see there is no where else in my house to put them...

Baking soda absorbs odors. Place several open boxes at various places around your room.

You really should find other homes for some of these birds. You run a big risk of getting a lung condition, no matter how careful you are. Just cleaning the cages exposes you to dust, mites and fungus, and possibly to disease. It may not be a healthy environment for the birds, either.

I have 5 budgies in one room. They don't smell, except for when I feed them veggies and it drops somewhere I can't find it! Part of the reason they don't smell is because we have a large window opened most of the time which is covered with a fly screen. Have you considered getting fly screens installed on all you windows and leaving them open? (expect for when it gets really cold!)

Don't use the potpourri stuff, because to most birds it looks like a tasty treat and they will readily eat it, which can be very very bad.

Are you sure you are giving all your birds the proper care they need to lead healthy and happy lives? Are tehir cages big enough? Do they get enough free flying time out of tehir cages? I'm not sure how they could be as lovebirds can't be let out with other types of birds a they are quite vicious. Are they getting the right diet? Birds need a lot fresh fruit and veggies as well as other foods to stay healthy. Do they have enough toys and are these toys often changed so they do not get bored with them? Is your room bright enough?

Is there enough room for all of them?

Have you considered trying to find good homes for some of them? Or even building a large aviary and slowly transitioning some of the compatible birds (such as the cockateils and budgies) into it. If you do this make sure it's large enough so they can get away form each other and have alone time, there are places where they can stay warm and dry and that you make the change into the aviary slowly, as doing it quickly can cause the birds to become sick, stressed or even die because of the different conditions.

Baking soda is the only thing I can think of, just make sure your birds can't eat it!

Don't use any sprays as these will harm your birds lungs, no matter how safe they say they are for humans.

Good luck!

The only way to really freshen the air is to open windows and circulate fresh air with a fan or air conditioner. Make sure all birds are in cages locked when u do this,

Also Set out a dish of cut lemons and also baking soda to absorb odors, make sure birds dont get at them.

Clean their cages with white distilled vinegar mixed with warm water,

Having that many birds in a bedroom is unhealthy for you and for them, consider getting rid of a few maybe

Either way goodluck

If the accessories (cage and bowls) are in glass or metal you could soak them in boiling water to which you add two or three teaspoons of distilled white vinegar. If the accessories are plastic (which is probably the case because plastic retains smells), then don't try to boil them or they will melt in no time, instead let them soak in the same solution but at room temperature. If it's your room that you want to deodorize, then bring the pan with the boiling mix of water and vinegar into your room and let it sit until cooled. Try to minimize the amount of fabric that is present in your room (rug, carpet, linen, etc.) as they retain smells as well. Hope this will help...

Potpurri. Sorry, i dont know how to spell it. Or just air fresheners. It could be as simple as leaving the window open.
