We had the same problem when my daughter required more storage in her tiny dorm room. The solution was found at Bed Bath and Beyond store and others that sold plastic cones that raised the height equally 6 inches. They worked perfectly and were cheap! Try those. They are made for beds but look great enough for desks too.

I have the same problem here at work, but only about 2 inches. I am going to bring in 3 long 2x4's and place them under the desk. I also plan to paint them to match the desk so as not to be obvious.

I suggest looking into 2x6's which can be attached together in a U shape and placed under all 4 legs to raise the desk. Paint to matchand you should be good to go.

No, don't buy a new desk. That would be stupid. If your desk is on posts, there are thing that are meant to raise your bed a few inches, so that could work. Maybe you could lower your chair, or just add boxes if it isn't a post desk.

If the desk has 4 legs, you could extend the legs by going to the diy or upholstery store and buy some bun feet. You can attach them to the bottom of the legs by drilling holes in the current leg bottoms and using a bolt to fix them together.

If the desk has like a file cabinet on one side, you could build a platform for under that.

You could cut the legs on the chair to lower it.

You could build a platform for the entire desk to sit on.

You could buy a new desk.

Hey boo, I could just prop up the desk myself from below! I don't mind, really, and you would hardly notice me there. Or you could get those desk raiser things from Bed Bath and Beyond, they're cheap, and easy to use! But, they may not be available until back to school in August (though maybe they're somewhere in that shady "beyond" section). You could also try looking in Office Max or Staples for another solution! Good luck.

You could use some soup cans,or juice cans. We did that once when we couldn't afford a new desk. Or use some books you aren't reading right now. Just some ideas ok? Good luck

You could use two 6x6's, stain/paint them to match the desk.
