I treat others as I wish to be treated because I believe that everything comes full-circle. If you are nasty, the world will treat you badly. If you are a good person, you'll have a much easier time in life.

Yes, bad things happen to good people, and visa-versa, but the more good you put out, the more good that comes back to you.

Easy. I've never committed a heinous act. I even have a pretty good reputation for empathy, kindness and compassion. My morality comes out of that, not fear.

I gave up the belief in eternal damnation more than a decade ago because it just made me miserably judgemental.

Well I don't believe in "eternal damnation" and I don't commit heinous acts so I guess that blows that theory. Of course I do believe in Karma but also I think I was raised better than to commit those types of acts.

No. I don't commit heinous acts because first, I have no desire to (I really don't - what would committing heinous acts accomplish?) and second, there's a concept called karma that I believe in. Yes, I know, this is somewhat along the line of eternal damnation, but since karma effects me IN THIS LIFETIME it is definitely something worth thinking about, in my book.

Am I moral? Am I any better than the serial killer? I dislike most people. Even though I do not wish to hurt anyone, I still think ill of most people. I let my personal hangups intertwine with their actions I find unfavorable, or just "them being them" and I think ill of them.

My point is, I don't claim to be anything but a devout pupil in the school of life, seeking something higher in myself that I know I am capable of (God)...slaying my own demons along the way. It is the only way.

I do not believe in 'eternal damnation'. What is considered 'heinous'?

No, it isn't.

It is, frankly, the last thing that keeps me from committing heinous acts.
